Mrs. Annie Mae Calsbeek, 92, formerly of Orange City, Iowa, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2015, at the Nazareth Health and Rehabilitation Cen-ter in Stoughton, Wis. There was a celebration of her life on April 21 at the First Reformed Church Chapel in Orange City, Iowa. The Rev. Mark Haverdink officiated. Interment followed at the West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City, Iowa.Arrangements were with the Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City, Iowa.Annie Mae was born on Sept. 6, 1922, in Leesville, the daughter of George Edward and Annie Elizabeth McCollister Jordan. She was raised in the “Red Lands” of Louisiana, where she graduated from high school. She also graduated from a business college in Shreveport.She met Gerald Simon Calsbeek while he was stationed at Fort Polk. They married on April 14, 1946, in Leesville. They made their home and raised their family in Orange City, Iowa where she was a homemaker. She also enjoyed brief employment at the Sioux County Capital Newspaper and Margie’s Drapery Shop there. Gerald passed away on Oct. 20, 1997 in Florien.In February of 2006, Annie Mae moved to Des Moines, Iowa. She has lived in Stoughton, Iowa since transferring there in May of 2010. She was a member of the First Reformed Church, where she par-ticipated in the Ruth Circle and the Blocks and Knots quilting group. She liked baking, gardening, reading, and sewing. Annie Mae took great joy in being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include daughters, Sandra and husband, Bob Neff, of Des Moines, Iowa and Rachel and husband, Jake Saladis, of McFar-land, Wis.; son-in-law, David Bentler, of Dexter, Iowa; grandchildren, Brian David Bentler, Mark Gerald Irven Bentler, Anna Colette and husband, Lantz Sakris, Aaron Joseph Bentler, Jordan Lee Saladis, Justin Michael Saladis and Jerod Alexander Saladis; great-grandchil-dren, Zakry and Jayson Sakris and Nathan Bentler and her Calsbeek family, Barbara Klein and David Schreur and the nephews and nieces..Annie Mae was also preceded in death by daughter, Sheryl Bentler; siblings, Roy and Ethyl Jordan, George Jordan, Jim Jordan, Josie and Ernest Salter, Jeff and Elsie Jordan, Johnnie Leon and Anabel Jordan, Charlie and Ann Jordan, and Billie and Gloria Jordan and her Cals-beek family, Jacob P. and Effie Calsbeek, Cora Calsbeek, Hermina and John Brantsen, and Anna Ruth SchreurMemorials may be directed to the family for future designation.
