Funeral Services for Grover Edward Speight, 89, of Many, were held on March 19 at Hill Top Gospel Tabernacle in Florien with the Bros. Brad Forrest and Jimmy Clark officiating. Burial followed in the Speight Cemetery in Florien. Grover Edward Speight was born on Sunday, Aug. 30, 1925 in Columbus and passed away on Monday, March 16, 2015 at his residence in Many. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, W.W. Speight and Bertha Speight; brothers, Cedric, C.W., Preston, Eugene and Igene Speight; sisters, Hattie Savell, Audrey Walker; special son, Gary Arthur; grandson, Brandon Petit; son-in-law, Gary Petit; great granddaughter, Brittany Taylor Snider and special grandson, Christian Farrell. He is survived be his wife, Helen Maxine Speight of Many; children, Lloyd “Eddie” Speight and wife, Deborah, of Hampshire, Texas, David Speight and wife, Dantina, of Many, Carol Atwood and husband, Dennis, of Florien, Debbie Forrest and husband, Brad, of Huntington, Texas, Patsy Petit of Many, Linda Procell and husband, Paul, of Many, Bonnie Speight of Many and Jimmy Speight and wife, Angie, of Florien; 18 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers were Bryan Speight, William Speight, Phillip Atwood, Matthew Atwood, Anthony Petit, Jared Petit, Nathan Speight and Conner Farrell. Honorary Pallbearers were Paul Peyton, Argus Moore, Paul Ferrant, Leonard Alphin, Kent Anderson, Delmer Hodge and James Hendrickson.
