Dana A. Ellzey of Westlake passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at the age of 58 in the comfort of his home, now at complete peace with his Heavenly Father. Dana was a loving and caring Christian and family man who enjoyed spending time with his friends and loved ones. He was a loving husband, father, son, grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed. He had many hobbies, but some of his favorites included; fishing, traveling, and hunting with Mich, singing and playing in his band, Southern Storm. Dana served in the Navy from Sep. 26, 1974 to Aug. 8, 1979 and took pride in serving his country; he was a member of the IBEW local #861. He worked as an electrician for PPG for 20 years and was a proud provider for his family. Those left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Rachel “Precious” Parker Ellzey; mother, Virgie Stokes and step-father, Billy of Weatherford, Texas; sons, Jeremy Ellzey of Westlake, Tommy McBride and wife, Mandy, of Bakersfield, Calif. and Robbie Ellzey and wife, Jessica, of LeBleu Settlement; daughters, Tabatha Newman and husband, Josh, of Lake Charles, Lori Ellzey of Westlake, Tanya McBride and Brenda McBride also of Westlake; brothers Cody Stokes and wife, Sue Ellen, of McKinney, Texas, Desire Boyd Stokes of Azle, Texas and Richard Dorson Stokes of Irving, Texas; sisters, Edna Michelle Stokes of Benbrook, Texas and Shonda Appleby of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Wade and Reagan Ellzey, Daylon, Savannah, Lanie, and Gunner McBride, Gaven, Ethan, Jordan and Jace Newman, Zachary Marcantel, Amber and Mikayla Roach, Ayden Ellzey, Ashlyn and Aaron Gott Jr., Cole, Alex and Evan Ellzey, and Kylier Jenkins and two great grandchildren, Gavin and Henlee Gray. He was preceded in death by his father, Eddie Lee Ellzey; step-mother, Lou Gray; grandmother, Edna Ward and brothers, Mike Ellzey and Eddie Lee Ellzey Jr. “Snoopy.” Funeral Services were held March 21 at Hixson Funeral Home in Westlake.
