Funeral Services for Barney Ray Cabra, 77, of Many, were held on Feb. 26, at Evening Light Tabernacle in Many with the
Reverends Jeremy Costner and Billy Ivy officiating. Burial followed in the Many Cemetery. Barney Ray Cabra was born
on Wednesday, Oct. 20, 1937 in Hornbeck. He passed away on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015 at Sabine Retirement & Rehabilitation Center in Many. Mr. Cabra was the founder of Evening Light Tabernacle and pastor for 50 years. He was also the owner of Cabra Electric Co. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Hannah Jackson; his parents, Floyd and Irene Cabra and brother-in-law, Lynn Evans. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Bettye Strahan Cabra of Many; daughters, Tanya and husband, Brice Patton, of Many, Cindy and husband, Ken Craig, of Many and a son-in-law, Kirkman Jackson of Many; grandchildren, Genesis Costner and husband, Jeremy, Lillian Havens and husband, Zech, Betsy Havens and husband, Joshua, James Jackson, Abbey Jackson and Sari Jackson; great grandchildren, Jonah Costner, Benjamin Havens and Brooklyn Rae Havens on the way; brother, Gene and wife, Linda Cabra of Hornbeck and sister, Barbara and husband, Jimmy Parker, of Hornbeck. Pallbearers were Duane Buckner, Jeff Evans, Joshua Havens,
Zech Havens, James Jackson, Lee Smids, William Smith and Steven Strahan.
