A funeral mass honoring the life of Euell Vernon Martinez, 71, of Zwolle, was held on Oct. 22 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Father Timothy C. Hurd officiated. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Euell was born in Converse on April 12, 1943. He entered into eternal rest on Oct. 19, 2014 in Shreveport. Preceding him in death were his parents, Andrew and Marguerite Booth Martinez. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 49 years, Frances Martinez; son Kenneth E. Martinez and wife, Jennifer; daughter, Melissa Kragness; sisters, Charlene Leone, Ann Rivers and husband, Freddie, Gladys Holland; brother, Maurice Martinez; grandchildren, Whitney Procell, Matthew Kragness, Kevin Rivers, Dustin Kragness, Robert Garcie, Kenneth Martinez, Jr., Thomas Kragness, Karley Martinez, Joseph Martinez; and a host of family and friends. Honoring him as pallbearers were Matthew Kragness, Tyler Procell, Robert Garcie, Kevin Rivers, Ron Rivers, Jeff Rivers, Terrance Sullivan, Charlie Martinez, Brian Martinez.
