Ruth M. Bozeman, 90, passed away peacefully at 11:55 p.m., Friday, Aug. 22, 2014. She was born on Christmas Eve in
1923 in Pleasant Hill, to Sam and Emma Miles. She graduated from Pleasant Hill High School, Northwestern State University and attended McNeese State University taking night classes in Library Science. She had a life-long love of reading and was known in Westlake as the “Library Lady”. She retired as Branch Librarian for the Calcasieu Parish Public Library in Westlake with over 26 years of service. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Westlake since 1952 and a devoted member of her Sunday School Class whom she loved dearly. She was a member of the Autumn Leaves Club and loved going to the Senior Center in Westlake. She also enjoyed cooking Sunday dinner for her family each week. She is survived by her children, Bridget Ware Stroderd and Richard Daniel Bozeman and wife, Betty, all of Westlake; three grandchildren, Angela Ware of Los Angeles, Calif., Wendy Jordan and husband, Jason, of Westlake; Cindy Elliott and husband, Jeff of Humble, Texas; and three great-grandchildren, Sebastian Ramirez and Ashley Elliott of Humble, Texas, and Jaydon Jordan of Westlake; one sister, Evelyn Luck of Rowlett, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Francis Asbury Bozeman; her parents and sister, Gloria Temple. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Monday, Aug. 25 in the Hixson’s Funeral Chapel in Westlake.
