Funeral Services for Clarice Pearl Chance, 102, of Florien, were held on Thursday, Aug. 14, 2014 beginning at 2 p.m. at
Union Baptist Church in Florien with the Rev. John Thompson and Dr. Dexter Johnson officiating. Burial followed in the Union Cemetery of Florien. Clarice Pearl Chance was born on Wednesday, June 12, 1912 in Sabine Parish. She passed away on Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014 at Many Health Care North in Many. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Emma Johnston Lee; husband of 68 years, Cleveland Chance; brothers and sisters, Muriel Corley, Lehron Lee, Nina Arthur, Clifton Lee and Velma Arthur and granddaughter, Tara Devers. She is survived by her daughters, Cleone Carroll of Florien, Elizabeth Ann Johnson and husband, Dexter, of Orlando, Fla; sons, David Chance and wife, Felice of Van, Texas, Wayne Chance and wife, LaVerne, of Minden, Carl Lee Chance and wife, Edris, of Keithville and Dan Chance and wife, Julia, of Tommiehawk, Ky.; 19 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren; 11 greatgreat- grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers were Darwin Carroll, Mike Chance, Russell Chance, Danny Chance, Tim Chance, Nathan Johnson, Jonathan Chance and Jeremy Chance.
