Memorial services for Donald Eugene ”Gene” Beebe, 88, of Anacoco were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 14 at the First Baptist Church of Anacoco with the Rev. D.R. Davis and the Rev. Malcom Self officiating. Services were under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville. The family received friends on Saturday, June 14, beginning
at 1 p.m. until time of service at the church. On Monday June 9, 2014, Heaven got a little sweeter. Gene Beebe was born Oct. 2, 1925, in Portsmouth, Ohio to Waldo Putnam and Mary Margaret Beebe. Gene served his country as a bombardier in the U.S. Army Air Corps. Gene was an active member of his community of Jonesboro, where he served as a oliceman
and D.A.R.E. Officer for many years. He also served as deacon of his church. He was a beloved little league coach. Gene was loved by many and will be missed by all. He is preceded in death by grandsons, Aaron Whatley and Clay Hennigan, granddaughter, Brooke Hennigan; great-granddaughter, Bree Richardson and sisters, Alberta and Louise. He is survived by his wife of 32 years. Glenda Beeb; his children, Margaret and husband, Roger, Donnie and wife. Nancy, Clarence and wife, Shi, and Doug and wife, Janet; his stepchildren, Tanya, Rita and husband, Dewayne, Sharon, and Rodney and wife, Ionela and his sister, Jane Hughes. Gene had 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made the Donald Gene Beebe Memorial Fund
