The Many Bass Club held its eighth tournament of 2025 on August 9th and 10th. The anglers could choose to fish either Friday night, Saturday, Saturday night, or Sunday. Three members fished Saturday, two members fished Saturday night, and five fished Sunday. The weather was seasonably hot with afternoon temperatures in the mid-nineties and water temperatures in the upper-eighties. The fishing was summer-time tough for the club members but five of the ten anglers caught five-fish limits, and seven double digit stringers were weighed in.

Michael Sonnier fished Saturday and won the tournament with an impressive 19.1 pound stringer. Michael also had the big fish of the derby that weighed 6.39 pounds, and he also had a second fish over 6 pounds in his bag. Michael fished the mid-lake area in eighteen to twenty foot depths and caught his fish on soft plastics. Glen Swihart fished Sunday and finished second with a four fish stringer that weighed 14.06 pounds. He caught his fish on the south end, punching grass. James Edwards placed third with a 13.09 pound stringer which he caught shallow in the Mid Lake area on Saturday.

Terry Hotard continues to lead for the Club’s 2025 Angler of the Year Race with 119.53 points. Gary West remains in second place with 115.00 points. Michael Kelley is in third place with 104.69 points, followed by James Edwards in fourth with 94.48 points, Skip Carlisle in fifth with 81.77 points, Glen Swihart is sixth with 79.47 points, Michael Sonnier is seventh with 78.81 points, and Gary Moore is eighth with 54.03 points.

Congratulations to the winners.
