Wanda “Nannie” Terrell Cooper, age 86, a resident of Lake Charles, Louisiana has passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on April 3, 2026. Wanda was born on January 8, 1940 in Pleasant Hill, Louisiana to George and Marie Terrell. She was the eldest of 3 children.
Wanda was truly one of a kind and had a heart of pure gold. She always spoke her mind and the world was blessed to have her. Her presence had a way of lifting others and reminding everyone around her that joy could be found in the smallest things. Wanda was a reminder of how beautiful life can be and her laughter was contagious. She was a beacon of love, grace and strength whose heart was entirely dedicated to her family. Wanda will be deeply missed and will be forever remembered by all who loved her. Wanda will continue to flourish in the hearts of her family and friends, and her legacy will endure through the countless lives she touched. The family would like to send a special thank you to her niece, Carla Paddie who was her caretaker and made her last year one of her best.
Wanda is survived by her children Pamela McGee and her husband Kenneth of Lake Charles, LA, Donna Cooper Dupont of DeQuincy, LA; grandchildren David Sheridon, Savannah Troy and husband Nick; great grandchildren Lillith Duplechin, Cooper and Adah Sheridon; Rhett and Raya Troy and great-greatgrandson Liam Duplechin as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years Vic “Paw” Cooper, her parents George and Marie Terrell, sisters Sherry Haire and Billye Pilcher and grandson Jeremy Wade Duplechin.
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” -Philippians 4:13 Pallbearers will be: David Sheridon, Nick Troy, Ronnie Keener, Brad Walker, Dakota Paddie, and Dillon Paddie.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Cooper Sheridon and Phil McComic.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Bethsadia Cemetery with Bro. Leon Manshack officiating. Visitation will begin on Thursday, May 9, 2026 at 12:30 PM at Warren Meadows Funeral Home, Many, LA.
