The Many Bass Club held its April Tournament on April 6 and 7. The anglers could choose to fish either Saturday or Sunday. Fifteen anglers fished the tournament and only four of them landed five-fish limits. Saturday’s weather was overcast, very breezy and warm. Sunday was calm early but the wind built throughout the day with temps warming into the lower 80’s. The bite was definitely better on Saturday but tough overall with most of the anglers struggling to catch a limit. The top three stringers and Big Fish were all caught Saturday. Most of the fish were caught relatively shallow near spawning areas.
James Edwards caught the winning stringer which weighed 13.97 pounds. He caught his fish early on spinnerbaits and bladed jigs on the south end of the Lake. Terry Hotard finished in second place with a four fish, 13.24 pound stringer that included the Big Fish of 5.03 pounds. Terry caught his fish on chatterbaits in the midlake area. Michael Woods finished third and had a 13.08 pound stringer that was caught on c-rigs and jigs on the south end of Toledo Bend.
The Club’s 2024 Angler of the Year Race continues with James Edwards holding his lead in first place with 60.82 points. Terry Hotard remains in second place with 53.21 points, followed by Michael Woods in third with 51.63 points, Jimmy Campbell in fourth with 48.10 points, Gary West Fifth with 46.03 points, Jason Timmons sixth with 38.25 points, George Herr seventh with 34.75 points, and Glen Swihart eighth with 34.27 points.
Congratulations to the winners!
