Victor “Paw” Johnny Cooper

Victor Cooper, age 87, a resident of Lake Charles, Louisiana has passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September, 5, 2023. Vic was born on May 13, 1936 in Many, Louisiana to Amos and Nola Mae Cooper. He was the second eldest of 8 children. Vic was the kindest, strongest, most gentle, selfless, loving and genuine man who touched countless lives. He never met a stranger and would take care of anything for anyone. He was a Godly man and very strong in his faith. Vic had an unbelievable testimony that he shared with anyone, anytime he had the chance. Some of his favorite things to do were gardening, hunting, fishing and most of all, spending time with his family. Many can attest to the fact that Vic was the best human that they have ever met. Vic is loved immensely and greatly missed every single day. He is the rock of the family always and forever.

Vic is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Wanda; children Pamela McGee and her husband Kenneth of Lake Charles, LA, Donna Dupont of DeQuincy, LA; grandchildren David Sheridon, Savannah Troy and husband Nick; and great grandchildren Lillith Duplechin, Cooper and Adah Sheridon; and Rhett and Raya Troy. He is also survived by 2 of his 7 siblings: Rosie and her husband Lane Cangelose of Mansfield, LA; and Tommie and his wife Gayla Cooper of Moss Bluff, LA as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Amos and Nola Mae Cooper, brother Cary Wayne Cooper, brother Doyle Cooper, brother Jerry Paul Cooper, sister Ellen Janet Arabie, brother Roland “Bo” Cooper, and grandson Jeremy Wade Duplechin.

Pallbearers will be: David Sheridon, Tommie Cooper, Nick Troy, Dillon Paddie, Dakota Paddie, and Ronnie Keener.

Honorary Pallbearers will be: Cooper Sheridon and Ken McGee Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Bethsadia Cemetery with Rev. Logan Brock officiating. Visitation will begin on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Warren Meadows Funeral Home, Many, La.
