LEFT: Wesley Mitchell, fine Country singer and son of Sabine Sheriff Aaron Mitchell, performed with his acoustic guitar to the packed house who enjoyed his music very much. Last year, Sheriff Mitchell performed an original number at the Sabine Hall of Fame banquet, but this year son Wesley did the honors.

Hall of Fame Board Member Martha Henderson, left, presented Delores Geoghagan, daughter of the late Selma Mains Scaife, a Hall of Fame Posthumous Award to honor Ms. Scaife, who was a longtime Many businesswoman, involved at church and beloved in the community.

Philip Troha, left, was honored with the Achievement Award, recognizing his long and ultra successful business career in the U.S. and overseas. Delighted to make the presentation was his longtime friend Pete Abington, left, Sabine Hall of Fame Board Chairman and past Hall of Fame Inductee.

Hall of Fame Board Member and Past Inductee William Ruffin entertained the banquet crowd with a soulful rendition of “For the Good Times” ably backed by the Henry Reggans Ensemble.

A man of many talents: Dr. Mark Holder, left, was awarded an Outstanding Service to Humanity Award for his several contributions to life in Sabine Parish as Sabine Medical Center Chief of Staff, a Many Police Dept. Detective and as Sabine Coroner. Presenting the honor at the Hall of Fame banquet was Board Member Shanna Gaspard, right.

Nell Britner, Pete Abington’s longtime secretary and Sabine Hall of Fame Board Member since its inception in 1998, was surprised with a bouquet of flowers at the March 28 Hall of Fame banquet in Zwolle. “She’s worked harder than anybody,” Pete shared as he gave her the arm bouquet. “And she’s done it for 25 years!” Nell is shown speaking to the crowd after the presentation as Pete looks on from behind.
