Lynn Wooley was born October 16,1932, in Many, Louisiana. He went on to be with his Lord on February 26, 2023. He is survived by four children: Debbie Merritt (husband Lavan), Dean Wooley (wife Janet), Donnie Wooley (wife Cheryl) and David Wooley (wife Stacy) and daughter of the heart, Theresa Lewis; 16 grandchildren: Dr. Jason Merritt (wife, Christy), Jami Chavez (husband Jay), Justin Merritt (wife Mary), Joel Wooley (wife Amber), Matthew Wooley, Meghan Evans (husband Gary), Dr. Dana Botsko (husband George), Cody Wooley, Zac Wooley (wife Kaci), Bobbie Lewing, Jennifer Tarpley (husband Grant), Duncan Craft (wife Laura Ann), Will Fathree (wife Sara), Tabitha Chamberlin (husband Cade), Jana Gould (husband Calin) and Laura Fredieu (husband Wesley), twenty four great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Myrtle Wooley; his brothers, Teal Wooley, Wilbur Wooley and Cortez Wooley; and the love of his life and wife of 66 years, Nadine Wooley.

After graduating from Negreet High School, Lynn traveled the country with his wife for work as a welder, building pipelines and water towers. They returned to establish their permanent home in Sabine Parish, Louisiana, in the community of Pendleton. From their home, he founded Wooley Welding Service. Upon the development of Toledo Bend Lake, he saw an opportunity to provide water to the many camps that would develop and formed Wooley Water Well Service. After retirement from his company, he continued to provide consulting services to the rural water systems of the Parish. Throughout his life he had a passion for raising cattle and continued to enjoy his cow herd until his death. He served his community tirelessly as a constable, then as school board member for the Negreet district. He was a founding member of the Zwolle/Toledo Lions Club where he served as President and called the bingo games. He enjoyed his church family as a member of Pendleton Assembly of God.

But most of all he loved his large family and their gatherings for any occasion, but especially at Christmas, when he’d bar-b-que all day for the Christmas Eve gathering. Rarely did a day go by without welcome visits from his children and grandchildren, always ending with him asking “what’s your hurry”?

Visitation will be at Pendleton Assembly of God Church, located at 14152 Texas Highway, Many, Louisiana, on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, beginning at 5:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Pendleton Assembly of God Church with a burial service to follow at the church cemetery. The service will be officiated by Lynn’s dear friend Brother Daniel Davis and Dr. Jason Merritt.

His grandsons will honor him as Pallbearers. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, or the charity of your choice in his remembrance.
