The Many Bass Club held their July Tournament of 2022 on the weekend of July 9. The weather was extremely hot with temperatures exceeding 100 degrees and a heat advisory was in effect during the day over the weekend with high bright skies and moderate winds. The water temperatures were in the upper 80’s. Typical summer fishing patterns were in effect with deep soft plastics catching most fish. Twelve anglers fished the tournament and six five-fish limits were caught in spite of the extreme heat.
Lee Ballard won the tournament with a nice 17.47 stringer which also included the big fish of the tournament which weighed 4.63 lbs. Lee chose to fish Friday night to beat the heat and caught the winning stringer on soft plastics in the mid-lake area. Mike Woods placed second with a five fish limit that weighed 13.73 pounds. Mike fished Saturday and caught his fish in the mid-lake area fishing deep structure with Texas rigged soft plastics. The third-place angler was Glen Swihart with 11.79 pounds. Glen also fished Saturday, and he caught his fish on soft plastics fishing grass in the south end of the Lake.
Gary West continues to lead the Club’s Top Six contest with 78.71 points. Mike Woods climbed into second place with 66.67 points, George Herr is in third place with 65.16 points, followed by Glen Swihart with 64.97 points, Jimmy Campbell with 52.77 points, and Lee Ballard with 50.07 points.
Congratulations to the July winners.
