The Many Bass Club held their third Monthly Tournament of 2022 on the weekend of March 5 and 6. The weather was warm and prefrontal with gusty southeast winds and bright skies. The water temperatures were in the mid to upper 60’s in the back of coves and the main lake temps were in the upper fifties. The fish were in prespawn mode and most of the fish were caught shallow from one to 6 feet deep. Twenty-four anglers fished the tournament and eight of them caught five fish limits. There were seven double digit stringers weighed in.

Michael Woods won the tournament with 15.44 pounds and had the big fish of the derby that weighed 5.56 pounds. Michael caught his fish in the mid-lake area by flipping jigs around shoreline cover. Bill Powell placed second in the tournament with 15.16 pounds fishing in one to four feet of water in the south end of the lake. He used soft plastics and spinnerbaits to catch his fish. The third place angler was Robert Lewis who caught a 14.7 pound stringer also fishing the south end of the Lake. Congratulations to the winning anglers.

After this month’s results, the Club’s Top Six Points Race is now led by Michael Woods with 51.19 points, followed by Gary West with 41.7 points. George Herr is in third place with 29.51 points followed by Johnny Flowers with 27.89 points, Glen Swihart with 26.08 points and Dalvin Slaughter with 22.89 points.
