Thelma Jean Rivers

Thelma Rivers, 78, of Many, Louisiana entered into eternal rest on January 13, 2022, in Leesville.

Funeral services honoring Thelma will be held on Monday, January 17, 2022, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Many, Louisiana. Officiating the service was Bro. C.M. Kelly. Interment followed at Beulah Cemetery in Many.

Thelma was born on July 28, 1943, in Zwolle to Burl Smith and Carmen Lovelady Smith. Thelma enjoyed reading and listening to music, especially Elvis. She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church in Many.

Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, Burl and Carmen Smith; son, Daniel Rivers; grandson, Tyler Lewing; and siblings, Francis Ezernack and Juanita Manshack; She is survived by her husband of 61 1/2 years, Bobby Rivers; sister, Elaine Henderson; children, Larry and Han Rivers of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Jamie and Thanna Rivers of Stephenville, Texas; Mike and Bonnie Rivers of Converse; Monda and Bill Strickland of Fayetteville, Arkansas; Ray Rivers of Fayetteville, Aarkansa; Kayla and JD Lewing of Many; and Paul Rivers of Kansas; grandchildren, Corey and Meagan Hatfield, Celeste and Whitley Rivers, Tristan Lewing, Monda Iron Boulder and Daniel Rivers, Tiffany Rivers and Allison Rivers, Courtney Everette, RJ Shotts, and Melissa and Annalice Meshell along with a host of nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.

Honoring Thelma as pallbearers were Corey Hatfield, Austin Corbin, Adam Lehr, Ray Rivers, Kurtlyn Cain, and Eli Winters. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Celeste Rivers.
