Emma Jean Procell Ebarb

Emma Ebarb of Noble was born on December 16, 1938 to Joe William Procell and Sylvia Rivers Procell in Shreveport. At the age of 82 her work on Earth was done and she entered into eternal rest on October 14, 2021 from cardiac arrest at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria.

A mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Ebarb. Father John Paul Crispin will preside over the mass. Burial followed in the St. Ann Catholic Cemetery.

Emma Jean was a devout Catholic. She was the loving mother of five children, four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, one great, great granddaughter, and a great, great grandson on the way. She loved each of them unconditionally. Her maternal instinct began as the oldest of seven siblings. She continued mothering her children, grandchildren, and great grands ending with her very special great granddaughter Nicolette Ebarb.

Emma Jean served her church in many capacities over the years. Her ministries included religion teacher, Eucharistic Minister, Adoration, Bingo Captain, Collection Counter, Bereavement Committee, and Church Housekeeper. She was humbled to receive the Diocesan Medal of Honor for St. Ann’s Church in 2003. She instilled in her family to serve and support the church to the best of their ability. Emma Jean was a lifetime member of the Zwolle-Ebarb VFW Post 5187 Auxillary. Her favorite hobby was playing bingo, arriving early to visit with her numerous friends. Emma Jean loved working in her yard, cooking for her family, watching EWTN, reciting the rosary numerous times daily, and calling in birthday wishes for her family and friends to the local radio station.

Emma Jean is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Murry (Bill) Ebarb; her parents; sisters, Mary Loretta Ebarb and Marilyn Meshell; and brother Harold Procell Sr. She is survived by her children, Freda Ebarb (Johnny) Dagel Ebarb (Renee) Cheryl Lopez (Terry Joe) Anita Manshack (George Randle) and Karla Sepulvado (John Cecil) all of Ebarb; grandchildren, Sheldon Ebarb; Bridget Ebarb; Scottie Gomez (Robert) and Kenny Randle Manshack; great grandchildren, Tristen Ebarb (Caroline); Nicolette Ebarb; Crista Chance; Alexandria Gomez; Justin Slade Sepulvado; and Abigail Gomez; great, great granddaughter, Josie Blair Ebarb; sisters, Joan Sepulvado; Dorothy Faye Ezernack; brother, Sammy Ray Procell; also a host of godchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Serving her as pallbearers were Sean Ebarb, Gavin Garcie, Hunter Malmay, Harold Procell Jr., Joshua Ray, Nic Sepulvado, and Wendell Sepulvado. Honorary pallbearers were Angelo Chamberlin, Bobby Joe Ebarb, Clayton Ebarb, Donald Ebarb, Michael Ebarb, Ronald Ebarb, Troy Ebarb, Eric Laroux, Sammy Dewayne Procell, and Scott Procell.

Oh, Heavenly Father please embrace your faithful servant from this Earth to the Kingdom of Heaven.
